Dario Posada

Dario Posada

Dario Posada was born in Medellín, Colombia in 1975, he lives and works in Miami, USA. Dario grew up in a violent, street-led environment and was traumatized by the execution of a friend. His only way out of this hell-hole was through studying hard and he quickly found painting as a means of expressing himself. He cursed the politics of education in his country and accused the church of doing nothing. He refined and developed his painting and left the University of Colombia with a Masters in Fine Art. He developed his vision of the world around his preferred themes ; human relationships, politics and religion. His painting is satirical, lively, strong and incisive. In 2000 he won the Siemens Art Prize and was invited to take up an art residency in Germany ; this propulsed him onto an International stage. Today, his works are shown in a selection of International galleries and museums.
