Bernard Pras

Bernard Pras

Bernard Pras earned his Fine Arts degree in Toulouse in 1974. He became a virtuoso of anamorphosis, juxtaposition and superposition of eclectic objects in 1998, when he stopped painting and began creating installations which he photographed. Bernard appropriates the images of various icons from art history and contemporary society and creates images that can be understood from a single pre-established perspective. Without photography, installations filling a space for a short time would remain the privilege of a select few. So the work of Bernard Pras could not exist without the photograph ; that final shot where the artist transforms his three- dimensional works into just two, for the pleasure of our astonished eyes.
